About Us

Sycamore Station is the joint vision of Babsi Neidhardt-Clark and Martha Thomas.  Several years ago the two life-long equestrians decided to team up to form a business dedicated to the importation of high quality, fairly priced Danish Warmbloods.  Teaming up has allowed them to take advantage of the expertise each one has to offer,  while still maintaining their individual horse farms.

Another vision that is mutually shared is the concept of responsibility to our environment, and the necessity to dispose of waste materials properly, whether that is waste in the form of manure, or waste generated by small companies.  After taking courses and receiving certification in this field, they have begun a division of the business that deals directly with farms and small businesses that wish to dispose of their waste in an efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly way.

Meet Babsi Neidhardt-Clark
Babsi has been competing, training, teaching, and breeding show horses for over 20 years.  She is a gifted rider, trainer, and clinician, with a history of being able to quickly decide what each rider needs, how the horse is best trained, and then bringing that combination together to create a harmonious team.  Having achieved success at the top levels of Dressage, Jumping, and Eventing with her own horses has given her a wealth of insight that she effectively shares with others.

Babsi competed her own Dutch stallion, R. Johnson, at the upper levels of jumping and Dressage until his retirement to Breeding.  Johnson has many offspring successfully competing in all disciplines.  Several of Babsi's homebreds by Johnson are now beginning their show career, following in the huge footprint of other Johnson offspring, including Rhett.  Rhett is owned by Shirley McQuillan of Versailles, Kentucky and ridden by Jim Koford and are competing in Grand Prix Dressage at the international level.

Babsi and her husband Rick own and manage their farm, Colourfields, in Kirkwood, PA.  For more on Babsi and her own successful stable please go to:  Colourfields
Meet Martha Thomas
Martha has also been riding, training, and teaching for many decades.  She has had the pleasure of teaching many types of students, from the ambitious competitor to the trail rider needing confidence.  She re-trained and sold retired racehorses for many years before beginning her own breeding program with Warmbloods almost ten years ago.  Since then she has been training and selling her own young horses and looks forward to their arrival in the show ring.  The year 2011 she will be introducing her own DWB, affectionately known as Emma, to her debut at the shows.

Currently competing the mare, Riabell, one of their imported Danish warmbloods, she has recently been awarded the USDF Silver Medal.

Martha is also a certified Equine Appraiser.

Martha and her husband Daryl own and manage their farm, Lakewood Stables, in Kirkwood, PA. For more about Martha and Lakewood Stables go to:  Lakewood Stables
